Greetings.

I am delighted to announce that we have forged some very exciting alliances and collaboration agreements over the past few months. The most significant one is between Busch Apothecary (BApo) and Afriplex Pty Ltd.

Afriplex is one of the most innovative South African companies. Dr Rajen Misra, BApo’s Medical Director and I visited Afriplex’ impressive premises at Paarl in the Western Cape Province recently. We were awed by the great work they have done in taking products “From source to shelf” as their slogan states. Afriplex can make practically all medicinal formulations from herbal raw materials, including injectables.

Rajen, Afriplex director Danie Nel and I had a long discussion which laid the foundation for the Service Level Agreement(SLA) which Danie Nel and I subsequently signed on behalf of our respective organisations. This milestone deserves celebration!

Afriplex effectively becomes our key ally in development and manufacture of our products from the herbal raw material. Their capabilities include, among others:

1. Making biochemical extracts
2. Biochemical analysis of the extracts using their extensive network.
3. Stability testing of products.
4. Safety testing.
5. Proof of concept work.
6. Laboratory and Clinical testing.
7. Prototype development.
8. Bulk manufacturing.

Our first developmental product with Afriplex will be CV 01-002, a herbal tea with consistent blood pressure lowering ability. Further analysis and development of this powerful anti-hypertensive product will almost certainly lead to other more “refined” formulations such as tablets.

We plan to follow this up with several other products which I will summarise in a separate release on this website.

The business we are in takes time to bear fruits, so we continue to cherish and celebrate each milestone!
